Atlas AI IELTS tutor: turn a question into a practice step
Atlas is GetYour9’s AI tutor for questions about IELTS feedback, English skills, and the next practice step. Ask for a focused explanation, request a concrete example, and test the advice on your own work. AI answers need checking and are not official examiner judgements.

Ask a question with enough context
The tutor workspace offers starting questions for feedback, learning, and support. You can ask Atlas to explain a comment more simply or give a concrete example.
Include the relevant task, the short passage you wrote, and the point you do not understand. A focused question makes it easier to check whether the answer actually helps.
First attempt
How can I get a better score?
One possible revision
My paragraph says public transport is useful but does not explain why. Can you show how to add a reason and an example without changing my position?
The second question names the observed issue and a constraint. You can judge the explanation against the paragraph instead of accepting a broad motivational answer.
Turn the explanation into a small attempt
Read the reasoning, then write your own revision without copying the model sentence. Ask a follow-up when a term or instruction is unclear.
Use a new prompt to check whether you can apply the same principle independently. The tutor’s fluent example is evidence of its output, not evidence that you have mastered the skill.
Atlas gives you a polished paragraph. What should you do next to test your own learning?
Show explanation
Explain the revision’s purpose in your own words, then apply the same principle to a different paragraph without copying. Compare the result with the original problem you wanted to address.
Know where tutor conversations are saved
The full tutor workspace keeps recent conversation history per account on the current browser and device. It labels that history “Saved on this device”; moving to another browser or clearing storage can separate or remove it.
Your messages are sent to the tutor service to generate an answer. Device-local conversation history does not mean the question stays offline. Read the Privacy Policy before submitting personal information.
Check the advice against the actual task
Atlas can misunderstand an instruction, invent an explanation, or suggest wording that changes your meaning. Compare the response with your prompt, answer, and official criteria.
Ask for clarification when an answer is too broad. Do not treat an AI answer as an official score, guaranteed improvement, or verified research citation. For a disputed assessment, a qualified teacher can provide another perspective.
Common questions
Do I need an account to practise?
This guide is public. The practice workspace requires an account, and practice allowances depend on your plan. Check the Pricing page and the allowance shown in your account before starting.
Can Atlas help explain Writing feedback?
Yes. You can ask about a specific comment and provide the relevant text for context. Check the explanation against your actual task and answer rather than treating it as an official judgement.
Does tutor history sync between devices?
The full tutor workspace saves recent conversations on the current browser and device. It does not present that local history as a cross-device archive.
Should I copy the answer into my essay?
Use it to understand the principle, then practise producing your own answer. Copying a fluent rewrite does not test independent Writing ability.
