How to interpret GetYour9’s AI IELTS feedback

GetYour9 turns a Writing or Speaking practice submission into an AI-generated report with estimated bands and feedback. The report is meant to guide practice. It is not an official IELTS result, and the product name is not a promise of Band 9.

What the report is designed to tell you

Start with the issue behind the number. Writing reports organize feedback around the task, organization, vocabulary, and grammar. Speaking reports address the corresponding speaking skills. The public sample report lets you inspect the presentation before submitting your own work.

Examples in a sample report illustrate the product’s feedback format. They do not demonstrate that the estimate agrees with an official examiner or that a particular learner achieved an exam result.

Separate an observation from an interpretation

An observation is something you can inspect in the answer: a sentence does not address the question, an example lacks a link to the claim, or a recording contains a long pause. A band estimate interprets performance across criteria. One observation cannot by itself establish the whole score.

A useful suggestion should point to the relevant answer and explain the change. If the quoted sentence is inaccurate or the suggestion changes your position, investigate before accepting it.

Where AI feedback can be wrong

AI can misunderstand a prompt, overlook a valid interpretation, or suggest language that does not express what you intended. Estimates may vary between submissions and may differ from an examiner’s assessment.

For voice practice, recording quality and transcription errors add uncertainty. A text transcript does not preserve pronunciation. Short or incomplete answers also provide less evidence for a broad judgement.

We do not publish an examiner-agreement percentage on this page. Treat the estimate as a study signal, not a validated prediction of your exam result. For decisions that depend on a particular band, use several complete timed practice answers and qualified human feedback.

  • Check the prompt, answer, and recording before relying on a comment.
  • Look for a repeated pattern across sessions.
  • Use your own words when revising.
  • Do not turn a single estimate into a guaranteed result.

Choose a next task you can verify

If a Writing report identifies an unsupported point, practise adding an explanation and a relevant example. If a Speaking report identifies unfinished answers, record a new response that includes a clear reason. Keep the intervention small enough to recognise whether it worked.

Then test the same skill with an unfamiliar prompt. This separates improvement in the skill from simply remembering a corrected answer. Progress should be visible in the work you can now produce, not only in a higher number.
