IELTS Writing checker with feedback you can act on
GetYour9 checks IELTS Writing Task 1 and Task 2 practice answers with AI. Reports show estimated bands, criterion feedback, and issues in your writing. Use the report to revise one weakness at a time; it is a preparation tool, not an official IELTS assessment.

What does the checker look at?
An essay can be grammatically tidy and still leave the question unanswered. Review the argument and the way ideas connect before treating every highlighted word as equally important. GetYour9 organizes feedback by criteria so you can see the difference between a language issue and a task issue.
For the official assessment criteria, use the IELTS scoring reference linked below. GetYour9’s AI report is a separate estimate.
- Task achievement or task response: does the answer address the task?
- Coherence and cohesion: can a reader follow the organization and connections?
- Lexical resource: are word choices precise and appropriate?
- Grammatical range and accuracy: do sentence structures communicate clearly?
Turn a vague claim into a developed point
The following is an original teaching example. A short paragraph cannot establish an IELTS band, but it can show what useful feedback should explain.
First attempt
Public transport is very good. It helps everyone and it is important for cities.
One possible revision
Reliable public transport can reduce pressure on city roads because commuters have a practical alternative to driving. For example, a frequent bus route lets residents travel to work without adding another car to the morning traffic.
The revision identifies a specific benefit, explains the mechanism, and adds a relevant example. It develops the idea rather than just replacing “good” with a longer adjective. No score improvement is implied by this single change.
A practical routine for checking your essay
Keep the exact prompt beside your answer. Submit the work you wrote rather than an answer you have already polished with another tool. The first report is more useful when it reflects what you can produce independently.
Choose one issue that affects meaning or task coverage. Rewrite the relevant paragraph, then try the same skill on a new prompt. An improved copy of the original essay can demonstrate a revision; a fresh answer tests whether the skill transfers.
- Read the overall diagnosis before individual corrections.
- Check feedback against your actual prompt and sentences.
- Save one priority for the next practice session.
- Compare a fresh answer with the first attempt, under similar conditions.
What an AI writing check cannot establish
A fluent rewrite is not proof that you can produce the same answer in the exam. AI can misread the task, overlook context, or offer a correction that changes your meaning. Keep a suggestion only when you understand why it helps.
If a report surprises you, inspect the evidence and compare several complete answers. A qualified teacher can help resolve disputed feedback. GetYour9 does not award official scores or guarantee a target band.
Common questions
Can I inspect a report before creating an account?
Yes. The public sample report shows illustrative Writing feedback and how criterion breakdowns and annotations are presented.
Is an IELTS Writing checker the same as a grammar checker?
No. Grammar is one part of writing. Task coverage, development, organization, and word choice also matter. A useful writing check should connect its suggestions to the prompt and your answer.
Will the estimated band match my real exam?
It may differ. AI feedback is a practice signal, and an official examiner assesses the work you produce in the actual test.
